You can either pay for your oil in full each time you place an order, or you can sign up to our Payment Plan to deposit money monthly into your BoilerJuice Tank account and use this to pay for your heating oil bills. Please note, full payment must be taken at the time of ordering for the order to be processed.
When you get your initial oil quote, we request a pre-authorization of your credit card for the amount quoted. This pre-authorization (also “pre-auth” or “authorization hold”) is a temporary approval on your credit card that typically lasts around 5 days.
This pre-authorization can look like we have charged you, but this charge is just a placeholder that will be removed once the payment for the order is settled. When the group buying session completes and the final price for your order is known, we then settle the amount based on that final price rather than put savings back into your BoilerJuice Account. This final amount is the only amount you will be charged on your card even though it looks as though two entries have been made.
It is the same process as pay at pump in petrol stations. When you enter your pin, you are pre-approved to a limit but only end up paying for the amount you need.
