UKIFDA gives advice on Government support

UKIFDA announcement contains the following advice:

" Given the highly competitive nature of the heating oil market, customers have the ability to purchase from a number of different distributors and outlets. Consequently, they are likely to hold multiple accounts, which makes the fixed payment distribution challenging to deliver without duplication.

Inevitably this will take some time, so we strongly recommend that customers do not wait if they need heating oil. We are working closely with the government to find a solution and ensure that heating oil households receive their £100 as soon as possible. "

Whilst we understand that prices are higher this year than in previous years, we recommend that customers don't wait until the colder weather to order their heating oil:

• If possible, order outside of peak periods to avoid higher prices and possible delays
  If you have space in your tank, get a top-up now to secure today's prices
• Keep an eye on our heating oil price charts for up-to-date pricing information

• Ensure you have booked a boiler service  to make the most of the oil you buy

Exactly how heating oil customers will receive the £100 support payment is unclear right now. As soon as we are made aware of any further information, we will update customers by email and on our website.
