What is What3words?

What3words helps make it easy to share precise locations simply. Whatwords has created an address specific to every 3 meters. This means customers can pinpoint a location where they’d like their delivery (your heating oil tank). Once the drivers are closer to the delivery area, they will use the notes on What3words to help them find your heating oil tank.

Compared to current street addressing systems, 3-word addresses are far more accurate, as they refer to a specific 3m x 3m area. As the entire What3words grid is fixed, the 3-word address for a particular location will never change even if buildings or streets are redeveloped.

It’s important that we make sure all customers have the best experience using BoilerJuice. Part of that experience is getting your delivery without the hassle. We understand that sometimes heating oil tanks aren’t always the easiest to locate. Therefore, we've partnered with What3words to help improve the efficiency and accuracy of deliveries, leading to smoothly simpler deliveries for both heating oil homes and suppliers. 

How do I add my tank location using What3words?

It's simple to add your tank location to your BoilerJuice account. Follow these steps for hassle-free heating oil deliveries. 

1. Login
2. Go the ‘My Account’ section
3. Click on ‘My Tanks”
4. Click View/Edit Tanks
5. Go to What3words tank location
6. Click the ? icon
7. Click the What3words link
8. Type in your postcode and find your home
9. Move the square to the location of your tank and click
10. You will then be given 3 words, these are the location of your tank
11. Add those 3 words into the What3words tank location box
12. Scroll down and press the update button

Your tank location is now saved!
